October 9th Episode -

On tonight's episode, the final three contestants had to perform in a ballroom dancing scene. Only two will go onto the live finale in which the viewers will help select the winner.

In the scenes to be performed, the contestant is saying goodbye to their boyfriend/girlfriend. One in the relationship is going abroad on some kind of dancing tour and want the other to come with them, but the other is a lawyer and must stay behind because of their job.

Karina Smirnoff from Dancing with the stars was brought in to help the contestants with their dancing, as was a professional choreographer. Eric Stuart was, as usual, brought in as the acting coach to help them with the scene, the dancing and the blocking. Eric wanted them to realize the relationship and saying goodbye was the main part of the scene to be focused on, the dance segment was just a part.

The contestants then went in front of the judges to perform. In the scene, the contestants were the lawyer who were staying behind and having to say goodbye to their lover, who was going on tour. They couldn't go with them on tour, they liked their life settled and their office. The lover said that they could change, but the contestant didn't think they could change that much. They then had to say an emotional goodbye. The lover said they weren't going to be coming back, which the contestant knew. They decided to have one last dance together, and then performed their dance.

The judges then gave each remaining contestant feedback.

Michael told Ashlee that she deserved to be here, she worked hard, she took their notes and did her homework . . . then she threw it away and threw her performance into her co-star's eyes, which made it a great performance. Mary Beth told Ashlee she liked how light she was with him, but she wants to see a little more raw and real vulnerability. She says in that dance she was amazing, but she could have thrown a bit of desperate passion in there.

Mary Beth told Yves he loved his reaction to his co-star when she said she was leaving, she believed him, but she felt there wasn't enough conflict in the dance. She loved his realness and played it nicely. Hogan wishes he had shown more of his sense of humor, but he did a good job. Michael says he felt the way he opened the scene was good, but the scene was about loss and he needed to see more of that.

Hogan told Jimena he felt the affection between her and the dancer, she played everything so real that it was scary. He felt a little humor could have been added in, the scene moved a bit slowly. Michael told her that all her choices always end up right, unpredictable, but right. He says if he was to say anything negative it was that she seemed a bit distracted in the beginning. Mary Beth told her that she loved some of the moments between her and her co-star, but she was hoping to see more passion here given her past performances.

Everyone was brought back in front of the judges for the final elimination.

Michael told Ashlee that he's seen a fight from the beginning in her eyes, she's wanted this and made so much progress. He says all he can tell her is not to be so safe, she has what it takes, tap into it and go forward.

Mary Beth tells Yves in the beginning he didn't remember his lines, but they always remembered him. She says he has a look and a presence, as a leading man he needs to work on taking control of the scene, strength and vulnerability.

Hogan told Jimena that she has a wonderfully quiet intensity, a mystique that is internal and glows inside her. He says she is at her best when the material is strong, and she's always exciting to watch.

Cameron told Jimena, Yves and Ashlee that the judges have spoken and one must be killed off. Yves was chosen to be killed off.

The judges deliberation was shown. They felt Yves "is what he is" and "what they see is what they get with him." Hogan and Michael both felt Jimena and Ashlee both had it, they could both make it on the show. Hogan said he's having a hard time figuring out which one he'd even pick. Mary Beth agreed with them.

Since leaving Yves has been featured as a model in Men's Health magazine and in the film "One, Two, Many."

For the first time ever, a woman is set to win "I Wanna Be A Soapstar!" Next week's finale will be broadcast live for the first time ever, the entire cast will also be returning as well. The winner will walk away with a 13 week contract on "Days."

October 2nd Episode -

In tonight's episode the final four had a two and a half page monologue to complete . . . . while taking care of a baby! The monologue was about someone giving their child up for adoption.

The actors met with Eric, who gave them each a plastic doll to work with. Yves and Ashlee both have children, so some thought they might have an advantage in this scene. In the scene the actors had to be doing their monologue, while holding the baby and packing the baby's bag!

Eric worked with each actor separately, giving them all advice. Eric felt Ashlee might break into tears too early. He felt that Yves was over thinking the scene too much. Eric felt that Jimena needs to get over herself as she's always afraid she's screwed! Eric was impressed with Justin lately and told him that he would do an awesome job with the scene.

Cameron came in and surprised the actors with their scene costars, real babies! Cameron had then all go get dressed and changed for their scenes. All the actors of course were scared to work with the real babies, and those without kids were even more nervous.

Rebecca Hearst was brought in to give them advice on working with kids. She told them to know their scenes inside and out, because they'll need to be worried about the kid for most of the scene and keeping the kid focused somehow.

The contestants then went in front of the judges to perform their scenes. In the scene they talked about how they tried to do this, but they were broke and babies need stuff. They said they couldn't even work the car seat. They told the baby that they were going to good people, they said the baby was the answer to their prayers. They said these people were grownups, not like them, they couldn't even keep a job and pay the rent. They wanted the baby to go to school and do good in life. They said maybe one day their new parents would introduce the kid to them.

Mary Beth told Ashlee that she interacted with the baby beautifully. Michael asked if she thought the scene was easier for her being a single mom? Ashlee said no, because she's been there in real life with her son, not knowing where their next meal would come from.

Michael asked Justin how he felt it went? Justin felt it went okay. Michael isn't sure it did, he felt that it was disconnected, as if he was giving the kid to the baby sitter for the night. Michael felt it wasn't deep enough. Hogan also felt they didn't know what the connection was emotionally.

Hogan told Yves his costar was a little rowdy (which he was, he was crying). Hogan felt Yves got caught up with the baby's emotions, so it's hard to judge his acting. Mary Beth felt like she was watching a Shakespeare piece. She felt like he came off like he didn't even have a baby. She says it wasn't a home run for her.

Michael told Jimena that he doesn't like that every time he sees her that she rips his heart out and he gets a knot in his stomach. He told her that her heart and rawness, it adds something to every scene and she takes them on a ride. Hogan asks if she's a mama in real life? She says no and she was so scared. Hogan says she's just a genius and he's impressed, she has truthfulness and honesty and that is so rare. Mary Beth told her she is so believable.

The judges deliberated, they all felt the women slayed the men this week. They felt Justin looked uncomfortable and they felt Yves was disconnected from the kid.

The contestants were all called back.

Hogan told Justin that he has a wonderful look and voice, a sympathetic presence and is a talented actor. He says holding a baby threw him off. He's asked to step back.

Michael told Ashlee that they have felt she's too structured and predictable, tonight she showed honest and raw motion. They ask Ashlee to step back.

Mary Beth told Yves he has to really show them what he has to stay in this, step back.

Hogan tells Jimena she was a dark horse at the start of this, but she got her mojo and has it working. He says whatever she's tapping into, keep doing it. He says his only concern is she gets a bit quiet at times. She's asked to step back.

Cameron then tells Yves that and Justin . . . step forward. Cameron then revealed that Justin was killed off.

More of the deliberation was shown, Hogan felt there were limitations writing for Justin. Michael felt they could all make it on Days, but Justin just wasn't the best tonight.

As a treat, the last contestants were allowed a three minute phone call home.

Justin felt that tonight wasn't a surprise, and he wasn't happy with his decisions. Since leaving Justin landed a role in the independent film "The Illustrator."

On the next episode
The final performance, the contestants have to perform a dancing scene.

Karina Smirnoff from "Dancing With The Stars" appears.

Viewers at home will help decide who wins this season and a contract role on Days.

September 25th Episode -

In tonight's episode the actors had to play drunk as a skunk! The actors got their sides without knowing if they had to perform that night or tomorrow morning. They prepared for that night, but in fact it was for the next morning they were to perform.

The contestants rehearsed, in the scene the character Taylor goes to a bar and has a little too much to drink, more than they usually do.

The contestants met with Eric Stuart, who brought in Linda Dano from Another World. Linda won an emmy for playing the alcoholic Felicia Gallant on the show. Linda says this is a good scene, but it is hard. She gives them some motivation for the scene, they've had have their heart broken. She says to play drunk, you have to play drunk but try to convince people you aren't drunk. Linda told them to leave themselves open for where the ride will take them, have a good time, it's only acting.

The contestants all rehearsed with Eric and got advice from him.. Bo decided to set himself apart from the others by trying to show he was perhaps attracted to the bartender. Justin meanwhile, works in a bar and knows how hard it is to play drunk, that you can't over play it. Eric felt that each contestant was good and he couldn't pick one that stood out.

The contestants then met with a make-up artist who helped them learn how to put on stage make-up and stand out a bit.

The guest actors in the scene were Brandon Beamer (Shawn), Martha Madison (Belle) and Josh Taylor (Roman).

Josh played the bartender, the contestant came in, sat at the bar and started talking about their job as an astrophysicist. They talked about how everyone loves space, Andy said she needed personal space and broke up with them. They then started telling the bartender that they were his friend right? They were having fun right? Andy didn't think they were very fun. Andy was played either by Brandon or Martha. They came in and asked what they were doing. The contestant said they were having fun with their new friend. Andy said that they don't even drink. The contestant asked the bartender to call them a cab, they were going home alone. They called their ex a loser as they left.

The contestants were then called before the judges for critique.

Hogan told Ashlee that she pulled the scene off with flair and imagination. He says it was a big performance and very courageous. He thought she did splendidly. Mary Beth says she thought she could have gone a little further emotionally, but very good.

Michael told Bo he thought it was his best scene so far. He says he thought he did great, and he is glad he didn't go big, because most people think drunk means big acting. He was going to fight for him.

Mary Beth told Jimena she did a great job, she was captivated. Hogan told her this time she surprised him with a wonderful sense of humor she normally doesn't wear on her sleeve. He says what she did worked tonight.

Hogan told Justin that he really loved what he did, without raising his voice or looking threatening, he struck a tone of sadness that was subtle yet strong. Mary Beth told Justin that his choices were fun, eating someone else's food was fun. Michael Bruno told him he'd do great on Days and he did great tonight.

Mary Beth told Yves she loved his laughing through his scene, it was so great and so real and really took them on a ride. She also liked the anger he hit on the way out. Hogan told him it was a wonderful piece of acting, for the first time he thinks he could win this.

The contestants were all brought back in front of the judges together.

Hogan told Ashlee to step forward. He said she is a wonderfully proficient actress, she hears the notes and takes them, she sweeps them up when she performs. However they do feel that she is too precise in her performance, they want to see her let it out and show them who she is. She's told to stay where she is.

Michael told Bo he loves subtle acting, but if he stays, don't do the obvious and he showed some choices of obvious tonight. Stay where he is.

Mary Beth told Jimena she was funny tonight and played the scene with some sexiness. Don't fall into that trap though, stay where she is.,

Hogan told Justin he liked him, he's very likable, but he wasn't the best tonight and he has to watch playing it too safe. He says continue the path he's going, but take bigger steps. Stay where he is.

Michael told Yves that tonight was his best performance, but his reservation is that he has gotten this far on his looks. He says tonight he worked for it, he doesn't want to think it was a fluke. Stay where he is.

Cameron told Jimena, Justin and Yves to take a step back. Ashlee and Bo were left on the line. Cameron then told Bo that he was killed off.

In the judges deliberation, they felt Ashlee was too over prepared and calculated, she needs to let her hair down. Hogan felt Bo was the least impressive, but Michael liked the subtleness. Mary Beth says they've been hoping he would jump off a cliff, but he's not jumping off that cliff. Hogan felt Bo is the every man and he should have been the one to be able to pull this off.

Bo said he felt his time was probably done, he didn't feel he nailed it when the others did. Since leaving Bo has played a double and stand-in for Matt Damon in "The Bourne Identity."

The remaining contestants got a margarita party. They had fun and pretending to be the judges and critiquing each others.

On the Next Episode,
The contestants have to take care of a baby (doll).

Rebecca Hearst from GH gives them some tips.

In the scenes the have to work with a real baby!

September 18th Episode -

I have this episode on tape to watch still. For those who missed or want to know, Travis was sent home this week. Full recap soon, along with photos (and photos for the other past shows too)

September 11th Episode -

In this episode the contestants received scenes in which they had to audition at a strip club in order to get a job to support their younger sibling. They were forced to beg the owner of the club for the job in the scene.

Eric Stuart, their acting coach, told the actors to make sure they made this sibling they were to be working for real, use someone in their life as inspiration, give them a face and pull from that emotion to make their scenes that much more real.

Eric Stuart brought in Julie Pinson (Billie) to help give them advice on creating a back story. Julie told them in any scene they do, they need a back story, make something up. They are forced to strip to save their brother from the foster care system in the scene they've been given. They don't know what happened to him in foster care, it's not written, so make something up in their heads. Julie told them to think of that back story when they are begging for the job, use it to help their scenes.

The contestants where then taken to wardrobe, where they were shocked by what they were to wear! They were told to make some choices, which include to or not to wear a thong! (Nobody did)

The actors were then called to the set for the scene. The guys all arrived in black pants and a blue dress shirt, the girls in a pink dress shirt and plaid skirt. Eric brought in dance instructors to help them with their dancing on stage. The instructors took them through an entire strip routine, which including a using the chair as a prop.

Also to help them with the scene, Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) was brought in as the strip club manager. Bryan gave them some advice, stay relaxed, know their transitions and beats, let things they aren't counting on to happen happen and make it all that much more better.

Justin had issues with doing the scene, because his family would be seeing this, and even contemplated walking. Travis told him he would not let him quit had he gotten this far. Justin realized Travis was right, this is what he had to go through to prove himself.

The actors then went in front of the judges to shake their bon-bon. In the scene, the actors came out and talked to Bryan, who was the manager. They tried to convince him they had a lot of experience, working in Chicago and New York. Bryan then asked to see their act. They had to get on stage and begin stripping, which was terrible. Bryan told them that they sucked. They had to then beg for another chance, saying they could do this. They said they needed this for their brother, who was 12, if they don't get money the foster care system will take them away. Bryan said this was a strip club, not a charity, beat it. The actor told him no, they needed this job. They demanded another shot. Bryan said his customers wanted action. They begged for one last shot, Bryan told them to make it quick. Bryan put on music for them to strip to. They then did their routines they practiced with the dance instructors. They ripped off their shirts and through them at Bryan to get his attention, he was ignoring them. Later the pants and the skirts were ripped off and flung off stage as well as they posed for Bryan and the judges.

The judges then gave them feed back.

Michael felt Ashlee needed to bring more to her work. Hogan Sheffer also says he didn't feel it.  Ashlee remembered her son was supposed to be her motivation, she forgot to even think about him.

Mary Beth told Yves that she was confused by him, he didn't bring out his smoldering sexuality in this scene. Michael Bruno asks Yves if he'd ever met anyone who had to sell themselves? Yves said no. Bruno says that he wasn't just taking his clothes off, he was a whore and he didn't get there.

Hogan told Jimena that he loved how she used her softness to her advantage in the scene. Mary Beth loved how she used her stripper shoes as a prop, stumbling around and acting uncomfortable. Michael told her good job.

Michael Bruno told Travis he redeemed himself, he did a good job, but he could have depended it a bit at the end, he should have been crying that he was forced to do this. Hogan thought Travis did well, he was sexy and fun, he loved every second.

Mary Beth told Bo that he appeared confused, she didn't know what he was going to do. Hogan told him he was missing beats and let the scene slip away, he played it to comical at the end.

Hogan told that Monica that he didn't feel the deepness of the scene, he doesn't know if it was her youth or if she had issues taking her clothes off in front of them all. Mary Beth felt she needed to study the script more, learn where to change her feelings in the scene. Mary Beth told her to dig deeper.

Michael Bruno told Justin again he wasn't seeming to getting the idea of whoring himself out, many of them didn't. Hogan felt Justin should have grasped the material and gone for it, he felt Justin was too reserved with his emotions. Mary Beth felt Justin could do it, show them what he has and his passion, but tonight he didn't.

Justin was convinced he'd be going home after tonight, that he choked. The actors all re-dressed to go in front of the judges.

Hogan told Ashlee she has proven herself to be talented and a good actress, but he has yet to see her heart break, which he needs to see. She is told to take a seat.

Mary Beth told Yves they didn't see his smoldering leading man tonight, he had to remain standing.

Michael told Jimena to continue doing great work, complicated work, make those interesting choices. He felt for her tonight, take a seat.

Hogan told Travis that he has many years of unblemished heterosexuality, yet when he danced he thought it was hot. The only concern about him is his consistency, what will they get from him from week to week. He was told to take a seat.

Mary Beth told Bo that like her, he has an ordinary look, he has to go further and make her want to watch him. He wasn't there tonight, stay standing.

Michael told Monica that from the beginning she has said she is the idea soap ingnue. However she doesn't have the skills to understand a script, if she continues she has to work on that. She's told to stay standing.

Hogan told Justin that he has improved greatly, but they still feel he's holding back. Jump on it and hang by the chandelier, he may not get the chance again. Hogan told him to take a seat.

Monica, Bo and Yves were left standing, there was only one chair to sit in though. Cameron told Bo to take a seat. Cameron then  told Monica that she has been killed off, Yves is still in the game.

More of the judges deliberation was shown. Michael felt it should be Monica to go, Mary Beth agreed through it broke her heart. Hogan just didn't want to get rid of Monica, she is beautiful and she can act. However this scene didn't fit her age, he can't blame her for not being able to play a stripper. Mary Beth felt Monica was one note bratty, she could fit in as a scene where that kind of character was required. Hogan agreed, she had problems with the beach scene, which was age appropriate. Michael and Mary Beth both agreed within five episode she couldn't learn what she needed to, she really needed acting lessons. Hogan says he agreed, he felt the guys would be penalized if they got rid of them over her.

Monica said goodbye to everyone, they all told her how awesome she was and how these roles are just a little too old for her, but there is a role out there for her. They told her not to give up. Monica hoped to be on soaps soon. Since the show Monica has been taking acting lessons and was cast in the short film "An Inconvenient Penguin"

On the Next Episode

James Scott (EJ) and James Reynolds (Abe) play a doctor and a patient. The contestants have to face death of a loved one.

The judges are reduced to tears by something next week!

September 4th Episode -

On tonight's episode the actors had to perform scenes at the beach, which of course was a studio beach. To prepare for the scene, the contestants got spray on tans. The scene involved a life guard and two friends fighting over the life guard.

The contestants all met with Eric Stuart, their acting coach, who told them if they haven't figured it out,  they'd be showing some skin today. Alec Musser, the winner of Season 2, was brought in to give them advice. They asked him questions about nerves and his most trying moments of being a contestant.

The contestants were paired up, guys with guys and girls with girls, as they were fighting over either Rachel Melvin (Chelsea) or Blake Berris (Nick), who were playing the life guards. They rehearsed their scenes and a stunt coordinator and his wife were brought in to help them stage their fight.  The actors finally met the guest actors Rachel and Blake.

The judges were brought out and watched the scene play out. Blake/Rachel were sitting in the life guard stand as the two friends, sitting on blankets on the beach, discussed the life guard on duty. One pretended not to be interested in the lifeguard at all, saying they were just okay but they'd rather watch the waves. The other clearly was interested. The uninterested friend then told the other to go for it. The interested friend went over to flirt, the uninterested friend then came over to warn the lifeguard about their friend, who bites. The two friends started talking trash about each about the other to the life guard. The uninterested friend ended up already knowing the life guard and had a date with them! When the interested friend found this out and who the life guard was, they said that the uninterested friend told them that the life guard "clearly wasn't worth their time." When the life guard revealed the uninterested/date friend claimed to them that the other was away in rehab for awhile, the two friends ended up fighting. The lifeguard then had to break them up.

The judges then gave all the partners feedback on their scenes

Bo and Travis - Hogan told them that this was a difficult scene for them to pull off because they don't have the context of the relationship going into it, it is up to them to somehow give them the context and a bit about their characters. Mary Beth told Bo he did well and added humor, Travis she couldn't get anything from him. Michael told Bo that he did a great job, he does finally see him as a leading man. He loves his face scruff he had grown. He told Travis this was his worst scene so far, he fell into the trap of they have to fight which means focusing on pulling of great choreography.

Ashley and Jimena - Mary loved Ashley's fun vibe, she felt Jimena (pronounced Heh-meh-na) was bland today. Michael felt the opposite, he felt Jemina did a great job.

Joyce and Monica - Michael loved Joyce and applauded her decision to bring a wig into the scene, as she has naturally short hair.  He also says her acting was great. He told Monica his attention was on Joyce, he didn't even watch her. Mary however said she thought Monica was adorable, however she needed to add more to her role. Hogan agreed with Mary Beth, he liked how Monica played the scene, he felt Joyce was a little reserved in her seduction of the life guard.

Justin and Yves - Hogan told Justin that he liked when he came into the scene, his eyes were already on Rachel.  He told Yves that his role in this scene wasn't the flashy one, he liked how he played his role and his secret. Michael told Justin that he was great again, Yves this was his best scene so far.

The judges then had to meet to deliberate. Michael said that never in the previous seasons has he been in the position that he doesn't know ho to send home. Michael was ready to send Bo home after last week, but he loved him tonight. Hogan and Mary Beth felt Jemina, as much as they love her, she didn't have any fire in her tonight. Monica is great looking and likable, but Hogan felt had fewer skills than the others. Hogan also felt Joyce was too reserved and inconsistent, but Michael liked her tonight. They all discussed how Travis was the weaker one. Hogan says you don't get by because you look good without a shirt on!

Everyone was brought in for more feedback and criticisms.

Bo was asked to step forward. Mary Beth told him that he had a huge improvement tonight. She said keep it going, he can step back.

Hogan asked Travis to step forward. He told him that he has fans and admirers here, but today his choices were not as strong as the others. Travis is asked to stay where he is.

Michael asked Jimena to step forward. He says they saw softness in her tonight, which they wanted to see, but she needs to relate better to the other actors and he isn't sure she can do that. Jimena is told to stay where she is.

Mary Beth told Ashely she made great choices tonight, step back.

Hogan told Joyce that she took their notes and went with them, but he feels even though she's made improvements, they haven't seen what she's capable of. Hogan asks her to stay where she is.

Michael asks Monica to step forward. She was told they love her look, but they feel she has such strong competition that they don't know if they should invest any more in her. She's asked to stay where she is.

Justin is called forward by Hogan. Hogan says in the last few weeks Justin has really stepped up, he was terrific tonight. However he seems to get disconnected at times, he's at times acting like he's not in the scene with others. However he is told to step back.

Michael asks Yves to step forward. He is told that he was his strongest tonight, but his concern is in the past he hasn't been on. Was tonight a fluke? Michael asked him to step back, they shall see.

Cameron Mathison then called out the names of those on the block: Travis, Jimena, Joyce and Monica. Cameron told Jimena to take a step back. He then told Joyce that she's been killed off, pack her things and head on out! Joyce then said goodbye to her castmates. Everyone was shocked that Joyce was killed off.

The judges all agreed doing that sucked. In more deliberation scenes shown after the reveal, the judges weren't ready to give up on Travis. They felt Joyce and Jimena were the worst, Joyce was always too guarded and Jimena . . . she does the same thing by nature and that is easier to correct.

Joyce felt that she can't succeed without failing. She felt there was a right path for her out there and she will keep working until she found the right path. Since leaving the show, Joyce has stared in two short films and the lead in the film "Cabaret Chinoise"

On the Next Episode
Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) is the guest star, who plays a strip club owner and they have to do a strip show! Michael Bruno told one of the contestants in their critique that it wasn't enough that they just took their clothes off, they were supposed to be a whore!

August 28 Episode -

In tonight's episode the actors had to do a scene involving going  under cover. The scenes they received all involved three people, a British individual being interrogated as to where a father was by a pair of siblings. The contestants had to fake Russian accents, then later talk in American accents. The candidates were chosen to be the sibling team and were randomly pared up with one another. They were warned that someone would be going home.

Eric Stuart, who played Chris Madison on Another World, was brought in as the acting coach. Eric has been the acting coach on the show for the past three seasons. For those who don't recall, he was Officer Toni's Burrell's boyfriend in the later years of the show. Chris was a reporter at the Bay City Herald.

Jimena was concerned about her accent being from Columbia. She couldn't do an American accent as is, and now had to do Russian and American in the same scene. Eric told her she needed to do what other actors from foreign countries do, figure out and do the American accent.

Corey was not happy that he was once again paired with Patricia, his partner from last week.

Robert Easton was brought in to teach the contestants how to speak in foreign accents.

Thaao Penglis (Tony) was brought in to be involved in the scenes this week as the guest actor. He was playing the individual being interrogated. Thaao told them all that daytime is the most difficult show in the business and probably the less appreciated. He warned them that the lines and scripts are huge, and your basically taping the dress rehearsal. He said don't learn your lines that morning as some tend to do. Thaao said he's worked with actors that do that and he finds them to be boring actors!

The contestants were allowed to dress themselves from the available wardrobe for this scene.

In the scene, two contestants met up with Thaoo in a restaurant setting. Thaao told them about a spy he used to know and worked with. The two contestants questioned him about this man. The contestants had to pretend to be Russian agents opening an investigation into the man's death. Thaao informed them that this agent was inept and rumor was that he cracked under pressure, he committed suicide. The two contestants later talked about Thaao, who they were convinced killed their father years ago. This is when they reverted back to American accents. One of the contestants wanted to go after Thaao with a gun, the other tried to convince them that they had more research into this to do. The contestant with the gun ran off after Thaao.  The scene then ended.

The judges then met to give feedback to each pair.

Jimena and Monica were  up first. Bruno clarified to Jimena that he has no problem with her accent, it's the enunciation she has to work on. Mary Beth told Monica that she needed to be a little bit louder, she couldn't hear her. However she looked beautiful and soap stary. Mary told Jimena she looked nervous, relax a bit. Hogan said he didn't feel the urgency on Monica's part, he needed more from Jimena's face.

Yves was told by Mary Beth that she loved his look, but he came off as weak and whiney. She told Ashley that she was great. Hogan told Yves that he needed more of an edge. Bruno told Ashley that she made his day with her choice of wardrobe and look, plus her acting. He says she was great tonight.

Hogan told Patricia that her performance wasn't as strong as she's been. He says she didn't know the material and was stalling. She wasn't as good as the last performance. Bruno told Corey that his wardrobe and hat were not appropriate for the scene, but he was a good actor. Bruno told Patricia she was a disappointment, she was terrible. He said she needed to deepen it.

Justin was told by Hogan that he completely rose to the occasion, he believed that he was Travis' brother, it was hot. Kayla told Travis that at the beginning he was too casual, she wanted to see more from him. She loved Justin, he was intense throughout. She wanted to see a little more emotion with the gun scene, but she felt they both did great.

Joyce was told by Bruno he found her believable, she did good. Hogan said he felt Bo did good tonight as well, but Mary Beth felt nothing from Bo and wasn't interested in him at all tonight! She said she had nothing written on her card about him at all.

The contestants were all later called back in front of the judges for the results.

Bruno told Monica they thought she did a good job, loved her look, but her voice was weak. Monica was asked to step back.

Jimena was told by Mary Beth they think she's doing great, but they need to see more vulnerability, something softer. Jimena was asked to step back.

Hogan told Ashley she was the most improved of the evening, but were they not so happy with the first episode. He says is 50% good enough? She was told to step back.

Bruno told Yves that he made stronger choices tonight, but he doesn't know if he can become the leading man they need. He asked Yves to step back.

Mary Beth told Patricia her look was better, but her performance was rough tonight, stay where she is.

Hogan tells Corey that everyone liked him and felt he made a big leap tonight, but he's still plagued by his own doubts about what he can and can't do. He's asked to stay where he is.

Bruno tells Justin that he did a nice job tonight, made strong choices, but has competition this season. Justin was asked to step back.

Mary Beth told Travis that he made a lot of improvement, she wants to see stronger from him though, he has a lot of fans here. Travis is told to step back.

Hogan told Joyce she was wonderfully exotic and expressive and has fans on the panel, but they don't know if she has what it takes as she hasn't shown her stuff yet. He asks her to step back.

Bruno told Bo that he was better tonight and a lot less nervous, but his fear is he isn't jumping out at them. He's told to stay where he is.

Corey, Patricia and Bo end up on the line to be cut.

Cameron told Bo to step back, he was safe. Cameron then told Patricia and Corey that they were both being killed off! Patricia and Corey have been eliminated.

Clips were shown of the judge's deliberation. Bruno said Bo was the weakest of the leading men, he's worried about that. However Corey is just not a leading daytime actor and had to go. Mary Beth hated the idea of someone telling another they'd never be a leading man. Hogan felt Corey was the funny best friend, the goofy guy, that is what he was suited for.  They all agreed that Patricia didn't step up to the plate tonight. The words "I hated her" came out of Mary Beth's mouth!  Hogan Sheffer said this was a great opportunity and an amazing prize, he had no pity for those who don't do the work.

Corey plans to audition for Soap Star next season, while Patricia has been modeling and is still pursuing and acting career . . . .

On the Next Episode:
Blake Berris and Rachel Melvin (Nick and Chelsea) are brought in for a beach scene. They play life guards breaking up a fight between the contestants.

August 21 Episode -

So recapping a reality show isn't the easiest thing. Hopefully these will get better as the show progresses. Also I hope to maybe add a few screen grabs so people who can't watch get a sense of what is going on. *update* I've added some really quick captures below! I also added more teasers for the next show.

The show opens with all contestant lined up alternating male/female, and having to kiss the one next to them.  The contestants were then given their first scenes to act out in this episode with their kissing partner. The scenes were love scenes, which included some very skimpy outfits! The men wore black boxers and a brown velour jumpsuit top, while the women were in black lingerie.

The scene was two lovers meet for a romantic interlude, but one has a secret. The scene took place in what looked to be the Salem Inn suite set (Kate's place). Each couple performed the exact same scene, the woman arriving to see the man, who had set the romantic mood in the place. The woman walked in wearing a trench coat and revealed her sexy lingerie under her coat. As they begin to . . . get it on . . . a man bands on the door yelling at the woman to open up. The male actor asks "is that your father?" The female actor says "No my husband!" The scene then came to and end.

After their performances, the judges all gave them feedback.

Justin and Ashley were criticized for making the scene a bit comical in a way when it was to be serious. Michael Bruno told them they looked like soap actors, work at it, they were good actors.

Bo and Joyce were criticized for being too nervous and not being consistent. Mary Beth however loved them and thought it was like a goofy internet meeting.

Monica and Travis were both complimented by all the judges for being terrific.

Yves and Jimena, Yves was basically told he was a bit dull and boring, while Jimena was told she was sexy. Michael Bruno however felt they were both boring. He also was worried about Jimenas accent.

Corey and Patricia - This couple was called out for for flubbing their lines, and were asked what went wrong. Corey was told by Michael that he's not a romantic lead because of his body, but is an excellent actor. Patricia was warned she could fall into being boring and safe.

After the critiques, there was a bit of drama with Corey and Patricia. Corey felt Patricia threw him under the bus by claiming he screwed up the line (which in fact he did), but Patricia felt they were called out and she was honest saying Corey was the one who messed up the line and threw her off.

The judges met in private to discuss the contestants.

Patricia was called flat and dry, but the male judges loved her look.

Corey: Mary Beth thinks he can be leading man, but Michael fears not because of his looks.

Ashley they all felt she was fake and all played the scene with all attitude. She sauntered in and swayed her hips too much. Television commercial acting was thrown out!

Justin they said was too sensitive, he needs to be a lot stronger. They felt it was odd because he has tattoos all over his arms, which didn't matched his job/persona.

Joyce they just felt was a mess, which shocked them as they loved her up until this. They wondered if that was her partner Bo's fault.

Bo was quirky and goofy, the men didn't like that. Mary loved that about him. Hogan Sheffer called him just boring, as did Michael Bruno.

Travis was loved by the judges, but fear their praise on him might make him slack off in the future. Mary Beth feels his shirt should just always be off!

Monica the men loved, but Mary Beth didn't. Monica played the scene with a bit of an evil twist at the end, rather than being shocked her husband arrived, she acted like she set the guy up.

Jimena: Michael didn't like at all and had issues with her accent, but Hogan and Mary Beth had no issues and found her sexy.

Yves was liked well enough and called sexy, nothing spectacular was said about him either way.

The judges then had the job of voting one person out. They then called everyone back to give them more feedback.

Hogan Sheffer told Patricia she was here to read his words, put more work into it. Corey was told to put more into it as well.

Michael told Ashely he loved her look and though the did good, but had to try harder as others didn't like her. Justin was told he is a masculine leading man, use that to his advantage.

Mary told Bo she liked his goofiness, not everyone did. Joyce was told she was interesting, but needed to make some changes.

Hogan told Monica she is hot and has fans here, but not to let her guard down. Travis was also praised and told not to get comfortable because he got compliments today.

Michael told Jimena she has potential and fans, just make sure he can understand her. Yves was told he has fans here as well, they have a tough road ahead.

Cameron Mathison said the judges deliberated. He told everyone to face their partner and look them the eye. He then revealed nobody would be going home today so congratulate each other. He told them they got off easy, but the game had just begun.

Next Time:

The actors are given lines which have them tongue tied and unable to spit out.

The actors get a dialect coach who helps them with foreign accents.

Thaao (Tony) guests in the scenes with them!

There will be scenes involving "investigations." Thaoo is wishing them well with their investigation.

There will be a scene involving a hold-up of some kind as one actor holds a gun on the other.

August 14 Episode -

Tonight "I Wanna Be A Soap Star" debuted on SoapNet. Once I get a sub page set up for it, I'll be providing weekly recaps/updates as to what is going on with the show. For those not aware, this season on the reality show the winner will win a 13 week role on "Days of Our Lives" and the winner will, for the first time, be chosen by the audience!

Hogan Sheffer (head writer) and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady Johnson) are judges in the competition along with daytime manager Michael Bruno. Cameron Mathison from AMC is the host.

Tonight's premier episode mainly served to introduce the audition process, the narrowing down of contestants and finally the introduction of the final 10 contestants. The final 10 must live together in close sleeping quarters, sleep in bunk beds, share one bathroom and a small kitchen!

This season on the show the contestants will be put through the ringer, including doing scenes with stars from "Days!" The previews for the season included the following teaser scenes.

James Scott (EJ) as a doctor and James Reynolds (Abe) as his patient.

Blake Berris (Nick) and Rachel Melvin (Chelsea) as life guards at the beach in some kind of "Baywatch" type scene.

Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) and Martha Madison (Belle) in a scene at the Cheatin' Heart. Martha was completely vamped up in these scenes!

Finally Thaao Penghlis (Tony/Andre) well . . . as Tony or Andre at the DiMera mansion?
